A scoping workshop, held in November 2018, brought together energy experts/ practitioners from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, and Myanmar and consequently to form an Energy Transition Platform for South Asia (SAARC), Myanmar and China.
The idea initially emerged from a capacity-building visit to Germany for participants from the region to explore concepts and practices related to the German “Energy Transition/ Energiewende”, organized in April 2018 by Heinrich Boell Stiftung.
